When you think of shows that were cancelled before their time, several come to mind. While I’ve never seen Firefly, it’s still one of the first that I think of simply due to the size of its fan-base years after it was actually cancelled. Another show that I think died before its time was Heroes, but we’ve recently heard of a mini-series continuation of that franchise. Another example of a show that definitely ended before its prime is the recently cancelled NBC title by J.J. Abrams (Lost, Almost Human) and Eric Kripke (Supernatural), Revolution. With its final episode, the season 2 finale airing tonight, and clearly making way for a third season which will likely never be created, I will analyze what worked, and what didn’t work, with Revolution, and while I may be sad to see it go, I will discuss why I am glad that a season 3 will likely not happen given the direction the show intended to go.
